Today her company Pink Sapphire Technologies, which she founded in 2019, is the primary vehicle that drives her technology passion. At the same time, it provides a platform from which to run powerful women in technology network as she enhances women’s career in the sector that is dominated by men.

In the preceding decade, she gained invaluable global industry experience working with a wide range of innovative and transformational tech systems and products in different capacities including Product/Solutions Management, Business Analysis, Software Development, Service Management, Strategy Development and Implementation.

Her career path took her to the United States between 1997 and 2003 where she undertook her BS, Computer Science at Langston University and MBA, Business Administration at Northeastern State University, followed by Field Engineer position where she provided support for Access Kenya’s 4000+ client base on various WAN & LAN issues. Both proved to be invaluable experiences that were to help shape her next career moves.

While working at a leading technology firm, Gathoni saw an opportunity to increase the level of Safety for companies operating in the region. In addition, the East Africa Region was becoming an important business hub. And its exposure to cyber-attacks had increased. Gathoni, felt that an organisation focusing on growing women in IT and especially on cybersecurity would be important.

This led her to found Pink Sapphire Technologies with an aim of increasing Cyber Security resource capacity for the region notwithstanding the digital transformation for SME’s and large enterprises.

Pink Sapphire Technologies, offer Cyber Security solutions based on various technologies from Palo Alto, CheckPoint and also offers training on Cyber awareness in partnership with international Cyber Security certified training institutions. The startup also implements various ERP solutions and deliver selected hardware solution.
